Embrace the difference

We often find it hard to accept when something is different than you expected or someone has different point of view than yours. For instance, in a group of people they usually get closer to the ones that they have something in common. Even in our pre-academic class, we already see people in groups hanging out together- some of them speak same language, others have similar interest in food, or even some has same assignments. So why do you think we become closer with those are similar to us?

Because it is much more comfortable, because it is not hard to start conversation with or just do things together. In other words, we are tend to be in our comfort zones and in most cases we're too afraid to get out of it. But that's where the adventure begins. When you accept the difference in others, not only will you learn from them, but also you'll grow from each other, expand our own world of view and most importantly we can value each other as human beings despite the differences.

I'm personally admired by NYC and its people. No matter how diverse and how culturally mixed the city, everyone accept each other as the way they are. Let's accept the fact that you are and always will be different from others, so are they!

Dare to embrace the difference.
